Top 3 People To Talk To Before You Start A Business

Starting your own business is hard work, and you should be congratulated if this is where you are. But you're not alone. There are plenty of people that should be in your circle of advisors if you want to increase your chances for success.

#1 - Your banker

It's just as important to find a banker that understands you as it is to find a good bank. Get to know your banker and make sure he or she gets to know you and your business. Banks mean money, and this is not something to take lightly. Banks appreciate loyal customers, so find one you like and stick with them. Grow with them and you will also see your business grow.

#2 - Your financial adviser

When you're trying to start and run a business, you can't do everything. So it's important to have someone knowledgeable taking care of your finances. This can be a financial advisor or certified management accountant. This is their area of expertise, and they will be valuable in helping you manage your money. It's not just about keeping the books but making wise choices with money that will keep you going in the right direction.

#3 - Your business consultant

A business consultant isn't necessarily someone you hire. It can be someone in business you respect who knows about your industry and your business. Business trends can change quickly, and it is extremely important to know when you need to shift gears and make changes that will help you keep up with your customers' needs.

There are, of course, many more people in your circle who are important, such as family, friends, good marketing professionals and great sales people. Don't be shy about asking for advice when you need it. Everyone has a different perspective and information that may become very helpful to you and your business.
